- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined. In another bowl, beat the room temperature eggs and mix in the milk and melted butter. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry, stirring gently until just combined; avoid overmixing for light, fluffy waffles.
- In a separate medium bowl, use an electric mixer to blend the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the chopped fresh strawberries.
- Turn on your waffle iron to preheat it to medium-high heat.
- Once your waffle iron is heated, pour an appropriate amount of waffle batter onto the center of the iron. Spoon a generous dollop of the cream cheese and strawberry filling on top of the batter, then carefully close the lid. Cook the waffles for about 4-5 minutes.
- Gently remove the cooked waffles from the iron and serve them warm, dusted with powdered sugar, and perhaps drizzle with maple syrup.
