Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Sticky Sesame Beef
  1. Cut your beef stew meat or sirloin into bite-sized cubes and toss with cornstarch. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil, and sear the beef cubes for 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add soy sauce, brown sugar, water or broth, garlic, and ginger. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Combine remaining cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry, then add to the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Return the seared beef to the skillet and toss in the sauce for 1-2 minutes to coat.
  6. Serve the beef over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
