  • 4 quarts Water salted for boiling
  • 1 tbsp Salt to taste
For the Garlic Butter
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil or melted butter/vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes optional
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter softened
  • 2 cloves Garlic for butter, minced
  • ¼ tsp Garlic Powder optional
For the Toppings
  • ¼ cup Fresh Parsley chopped
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper to taste
For the Bread
  • 1 loaf Italian Bread or French bread

Method
 

Boil the Spaghetti
  1. Fill a large pot with 4 quarts of salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Add the spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
Sauté the Garlic
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and optional red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Combine the Spaghetti and Sauce
  1. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet. Toss with sautéed garlic and gradually incorporate reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
Add Fresh Ingredients
  1. Stir in ¼ cup of chopped parsley and ½ cup grated Parmesan. Season with black pepper and salt.
Prepare the Garlic Butter
  1. Blend ½ cup softened unsalted butter, 2 cloves minced garlic, ¼ cup parsley, and ¼ cup Parmesan until combined. Season with salt and pepper.
Prepare the Bread
  1. Slice the Italian bread lengthwise and spread garlic butter on both halves generously.
Bake the Garlic Bread
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Place buttered bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy.
Broil for Extra Crispiness
  1. Switch oven to broil and cook garlic bread for an additional 1-2 minutes, watching closely.
