Ingredients

Base
  • 8 Medjool dates pitted, sliced lengthwise
  • 1 cup Peanut butter creamy or crunchy
Chocolate Drizzle
  • 1 cup Dark chocolate high-quality
Optional Toppings
  • 1/4 cup Chopped nuts almonds or walnuts
  • 1 pinch Sea salt

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Butter knife
  • Plate

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Begin by prepping your Medjool dates. Slice each date lengthwise with a sharp knife, creating an opening down the middle. Carefully remove the pit if not already pitted. Set them aside on a clean plate.
  2. Grab your creamy or crunchy peanut butter and a butter knife. Generously fill each date with peanut butter, ensuring it overflows slightly.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, break your dark chocolate into small pieces. Microwave the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring until it’s fully melted and smooth.
  4. Once your chocolate is melted, take a spoon and carefully drizzle it over each stuffed date, ensuring that each date is generously coated.
  5. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts atop the chocolate drizzle and lightly sprinkle sea salt over the dates.
  6. To help the chocolate set, place the Smashed Dates in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
  7. Once the chocolate has set, arrange your Smashed Dates on a serving platter. They can be served cold or at room temperature.
