Method
 

Steps
  1. Prepare your rice according to package instructions, typically boiling water with a pinch of salt, then adding 1 cup of rice for every 2 cups of water. Cover and simmer for about 15-18 minutes on low heat until fluffy.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Lower the heat to medium, and stir in 3 minced garlic cloves and 1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in ¼ cup of soy sauce and sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Mix thoroughly to coat the beef evenly and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Layer cooked rice into bowls as a base. Spoon the ground beef mixture on top and add fresh vegetables.
