- In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Break it apart as it cooks for about 5–7 minutes until browned.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Reduce the heat and add soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Stir well and simmer for 3–4 minutes.
- If using, add broccoli florets and cook for about 3–4 minutes until tender yet crisp.
- Prepare rice according to package instructions while the beef mixture simmers.
- In serving bowls, place a scoop of rice and spoon the beef mixture over it.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and optional sesame seeds before serving.
