Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Pat the beef chuck roast dry with paper towels, rub with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Optional: Sear the beef in a skillet for 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to Crockpot.
  3. Mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl, pour over beef in the Crockpot.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours until the beef is tender.
  5. Remove beef, let rest for 5 minutes, then shred and return to juices in the Crockpot.
  6. Slice hoagie rolls open and broil with provolone cheese for 1-2 minutes until melted.
  7. Assemble sandwiches with shredded beef, serve warm with au jus for dipping.
