Butter Chicken Ingredients
  • 1 cup yogurt For marinating
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice For marinating
  • 1 tsp turmeric Spice for marinade
  • 1 tsp cumin Spice for marinade
  • 1 tsp coriander Spice for marinade
  • 1 tsp paprika Spice for marinade
  • 1 tsp salt To taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil For searing chicken
  • 2 medium onions Chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger Minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce For sauce base
  • 1 cup heavy cream For sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter For sauce
  • 1 tsp garam masala For seasoning
  • fresh cilantro For garnish

Method
 

Butter Chicken Preparation
  1. Prepare the marinade by combining yogurt, lemon juice, turmeric, cumin, coriander, paprika, and salt. Stir until smooth.
  2. Marinate the chicken pieces with the prepared marinade for at least 1 hour.
  3. Sear the marinated chicken in a skillet for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Sauté chopped onions in the same pan until golden and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Add minced garlic and ginger to the onions, cooking for 2 minutes.
  6. Pour in the tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Combine seared chicken with the sauce, cover and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  8. Mix in heavy cream and butter, simmer for another 5 minutes.
  9. Season with garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Rice Cooking
  1. Cook your rice according to package instructions, rinsing thoroughly before cooking.
  2. Fluff the rice with a fork after cooking to ensure the best texture.
Service
  1. Place a scoop of rice on each plate and ladle the Butter Chicken over the top.
