Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 4 cups of all-purpose flour, ½ cup of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 packet of active dry yeast or instant yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup of warm milk, ¼ cup of melted butter, and 1 large egg.
  3. Stir the wet mixture into the dry mixture until a shaggy, sticky dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
